Seychelles’ Qualifications Now Accessible on the Continental Qualifications and Credentials Platform
Mahe, Seychelles – 6 August 2026
The Seychelles Qualifications Authority (SQA) announces that Seychelles is among the first African countries to begin publishing qualifications data on the Qualifications and Credentials Platform (QCP), a continental digital public interface launched at the 7th African Continental Qualifications Framework (ACQF) Forum, held in Nairobi, Kenya, 28-30 July 2026.
The QCP makes qualifications data from across Africa accessible to learners, employers, educational institutions and policymakers. As of the forum, 24 African countries have engaged with the platform; Seychelles was commended as one of the pioneers leading initial publishing onto the platform.
What the QCP Enables
The platform operates as a continental translation layer – making qualifications from across Africa legible and comparable without requiring countries to abandon their own systems. Seychelles retains full control of its qualifications framework and policies. The QCP simply makes that system transparent and accessible at continental scale.
For employers, this means they can search qualifications from participating African countries and understand what skills and competencies candidates bring. For learners, it means their credentials travel with credibility.
Next Steps
SQA will maintain Seychelles’ qualifications data on the QCP as new qualifications are registered nationally, ensuring the platform remains current and reliable.
About the QCP
The Qualifications and Credentials Platform (QCP) is a single trusted, authoritative source of information on qualifications across Africa.
The QCP is a continental multilingual platform designed to:
- Increase international visibility, comparability and transparency of qualifications, enabling learners, employers, and education providers to navigate and compare qualifications more easily.
- Support portability and recognition of skills and qualifications, as well as learner and labour mobility, ensuring that qualifications are readily understood across borders and sectors.
- Provide a foundation for innovation, including digital credentials, learner records databases, micro-credentials, RPL and data-driven skills intelligence.
- Ensure harmonisation of qualifications databases and their interoperability by adopting common continental standards, while respecting national autonomy and contexts.
